Kyiv – Ukrainian naval drones struck two Russian-linked oil tankers, the Kairos and Virat, off the Turkish coast in the Black Sea, causing fires but no casualties. Both vessels are part of Russia’s “shadow fleet,” used to bypass Western sanctions, BBC reported.
The attacks employed Sea Baby drones and appear aimed at hitting Russia’s oil revenues. Turkish authorities assisted the vessels, attempting to extinguish the fires.
Separately, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium suspended loading at Novorossiysk port after an unmanned boat attack caused damage. Kazakhstan condemned the strike, stressing stable energy supplies.
Meanwhile, President Zelensky confirmed a Ukrainian delegation led by Rustem Umerov is heading to the US for war negotiations, replacing former lead negotiator Andriy Yermak. Talks are expected in Florida, while US envoy Steve Witkoff will visit Moscow next week.
