After the CPN-UML Secretariat meeting in Chyasal ended, top leaders from the two ruling parties—Nepali Congress and CPN-UML—met in Baluwatar for high-level talks.

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, who is currently in the spotlight over a visa scandal involving his staff and immigration officials, was also present.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba sat together during the discussions. Other important leaders like UML’s senior vice-chair Ishwar Pokharel and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel also took part.

From the Nepali Congress side, Vice-president Purna Bahadur Khadka, Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, and Agriculture Minister Ramnath Adhikari joined President Deuba. However, General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma did not attend.

Home Minister Lekhak is under growing pressure due to the visa scandal. Many are calling for his resignation, but he has refused, saying he won’t quit over his subordinates' mistakes.
