Koirala: Politics Should Prioritize People

Shekhar Koirala, a leader of the Nepali Congress, has said that politics should be about serving the nation and the people, not for business or personal gain.

Speaking at a program organized by the Nona Koirala Memorial Foundation to honor leader Nona Koirala. Koirala criticized the current political situation, saying it has failed to focus on the welfare of the public. He pointed out that today’s politics is mainly driven by power and money, which worries him about the country’s leadership. 

Koirala also accused politicians at all levels of government of putting their own interests above the public’s needs. He added that Nepali politics is becoming too commercial, and it should be more about serving the people rather than being a business. He also expressed his concern about the rush to pass ordinances just before the parliamentary session starts.
