Russian airstrikes on several cities in Ukraine early Saturday morning killed five people and injured more than 20 civilians.
According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the city faced its biggest air attack so far. The strike, which began around 4 a.m., involved 48 drones, two missiles, and four bombs. Three people were killed and 17 injured in Kharkiv alone.
In Kherson, a couple died after artillery shelling damaged two buildings. In Dnipro, two women were injured, and in Lutsk, a young woman injured in an earlier attack on Friday has died.
Rescue teams are working actively in the affected areas. Officials said the injured are being treated, and some are in serious condition.
Russia has increased its attacks on Ukraine in recent days. Ukraine has proposed a ceasefire, but Russia has not responded positively. The international community is urging both sides to show restraint and find a peaceful solution.
