RSP Prez Moves Apex Court Against Tulsipur Court Order

Rabi Lamichhane, president of the Rastriya Swatrantra Party, moved the Supreme Court on Friday challenging the recent order from the Butwal bench of the Tulsipur high court to send him to custody in connection with a cooperative fraud case. 

The court has already registered his petition.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              
A week ago, the bench had overturned an earlier order from the Rupandehi district court to free Lamichhane, accused of defrauding cooperative depositors while he was the managing director of Gorkha Media, on a bail of Rs 10 million.

Since then, he is in the custody of Rupandehi district prison.
