Preliminary results from the House of Representatives elections in Jhapa show Rastriya Swatantra Party candidates Balen Shah and Indira Rana Magar leading in Jhapa-5 and Jhapa-2, respectively, as counting continues in three of the five constituencies.

In Jhapa, preliminary results have started coming in as vote counting begins in some constituencies for the House of Representatives elections. According to the Election Commission, counting has started in three out of the five constituencies in Jhapa.
According to early results, candidates from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) led by Ravi Lamichhane are ahead in two constituencies.
In Jhapa-5, RSP candidate Balen Shah has taken a significant lead. Out of 2,303 votes counted, he has secured 1,478 votes. His closest competitor, KP Sharma Oli of the CPN-UML, received 385 votes. Meanwhile, Mandhara Chimariya of the Nepali Congress received 42 votes, Ranjit Tamang of the CPN got 61 votes, and Shivan Magar of the Labour Culture Party got 149 votes. Jhapa-5 has a total of 163,379 registered voters, with 106,372 votes cast.
Similarly, in Jhapa-2, RSP candidate Indira Rana Magar has also taken an early lead. Out of 2,412 votes counted, she has received 1,599 votes, while her closest competitor, Devaraj Ghimire of the CPN-UML, has received 275 votes.
