The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has called for an independent commission to investigate the incident that took place on March 28 in Tinkune.
The proposed commission would include members from the Human Rights Commission and civil society, and would be led by a former Supreme Court judge.
A team under RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden handed over a letter to Acting Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh today, asking for quick action.
The party has also demanded that the Home Minister resign to ensure a fair investigation. They also want the police chief and officials responsible for the crackdown on March 28 to be suspended.
The RPP has asked that those who died in the incident be recognized as martyrs.
Other demands include the immediate release of RPP leaders Rabindra Mishra and Dhawal Shumsher Rana, along with other prisoners. The party has also called for free and proper medical treatment for the injured.
