Revenge Motive Behind Corruption Charges Against Me: Madhav Nepal

Madhav Kumar Nepal, the Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister, has said that the corruption case against him was filed with a motive of revenge.

Speaking at a program organized at the party’s central office in Alonagar on Saturday, he said that some people are jealous and fearful of his party’s growing role in national politics.

“Some individuals are panicking after seeing the role our party is playing. They are acting with prejudice and burning with revenge. That’s why, as you’ve heard recently, there’s been an attempt to file a corruption case against me,” he said.

He added that he has never taken even a single rupee in bribe or done anything wrong that would harm the country or its people. If he had, he said, he would take full responsibility.

“If I haven’t done anything for personal gain, then there is nothing to fear. I will firmly stand against all false allegations. I believe the judiciary will deliver justice. Justice must win, and injustice must lose. We trust the court and want to strengthen the rule of law in the country,” he said.

“This is a challenge we must face. Some people run away when challenges appear. But we won’t run away—we will face it head-on,” he added.
