The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RASWAPA) has expressed support for selecting the next prime minister through a consensus among all parties, emphasizing the mandatory participation of the Gen-Z generation.
The decision was made during a virtual central committee meeting on Thursday. In a proposal issued by the party’s acting president Dol Prasad Aryal, RASWAPA extended its best wishes for broad political approval of the proposed candidate.
The party stated:
"RASWAPA will support the candidate proposed for prime minister through a consensus process involving all parties, with the active participation of the decisive Gen-Z generation committed to good governance."
RASWAPA highlighted that parliamentary proceedings will automatically become inactive after the election is announced and stressed that the consensus-based route is necessary to provide a political solution for the country.
The party also reminded that under Article 83 of the Constitution, the federal legislature is bicameral and emphasized maintaining the permanent structure and functionality of the National Assembly. RASWAPA recommended that the interim government conduct the next House of Representatives election within six months, balancing the need for a fresh mandate with ongoing political movements.
