The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has promised to strengthen its fight against the government by mobilizing a stronger people’s movement.
Chairperson Rajendra Lingden emphasized the party’s strategy to amplify its demands and strengthen its position as an opposition force, speaking at the ongoing Central Working Committee meeting in Kathmandu.
The meeting, which started on Friday, aims to create a strategy for the party, review how the government is doing, and discuss its role as an opposition party. Lingden criticized the government, led by major parties like the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, for failing to address the country’s economic decline and growing public dissatisfaction. He accused the government of undermining democracy by frequently bypassing parliamentary procedures and relying on ordinances to govern, calling this harmful to democracy.
In addition to discussing national politics, the meeting will review the progress of the party's district conventions and offer guidance to speed up these efforts. The two-day meeting is expected to wrap up on Saturday with resolutions on these important topics.
