Rain, Thunderstorms Expected in Nepal's Hilly Areas; Clear Skies Elsewhere

The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has shared that Nepal is currently affected by westerly and local winds, as well as some moisture coming from the Arabian Sea.

The report mentions that the hilly areas across the country are mostly cloudy or partly cloudy, while the rest of the country is generally clear to partly cloudy. Some places are also experiencing light rain along with thunder and lightning.

Many hilly regions and the Terai areas in provinces like Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim have seen a rise in maximum temperatures.

This afternoon, the hilly areas in Koshi are expected to remain partly to mostly cloudy, with the rest of the country being mostly clear to partly cloudy.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki, and isolated areas in other hilly regions.

In high hilly and mountain areas, there may be light rain or even snowfall in one or two places.

Tonight, the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki are likely to stay partly to mostly cloudy, while other regions will remain mostly clear to partly cloudy.

There could be light rain with thunder and lightning in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki.
