Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) senior vice president Rabindra Mishra has been released on Rs 300,000 bail by the Kathmandu District Court. The order was issued by Judge Taradevi Maharjan after Mishra appeared in court on Tuesday. He is one of the accused in the Tinkune protest incident that turned violent on Chaitra 15.

On the same day, RPP General Secretary and Member of Parliament Dhawal Shamsher Rana, who was also charged in the same case, had appeared before the court. He, too, was granted bail of Rs 300,000 and has already returned to Parliament.

A case was officially filed against Mishra on Jestha 11, accusing him of serious offenses such as crimes against the state, criminal violence, organized crime, and integrated crimes. During the Chaitra 15 protest organized by royalists, two people died, and the demonstration turned violent. Mishra is accused of making provocative statements that allegedly fueled the unrest.

Meanwhile, Durga Prasai, who is believed to be one of the main planners of the protest, has already been sent to judicial custody following a court decision.

The court proceedings come amid increasing scrutiny over political protests and accountability for public violence.
