Protesters Set Fire to PM Oli’s Residence as Political Unrest Escalates

Demonstrators torched the private residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Balkot, Bhaktapur, on Tuesday, marking the latest attack on political leaders’ homes amid nationwide protests. Party offices and residences of several senior leaders, including Sher Bahadur Deuba and Madhav Kumar Nepal, have also been vandalized and set ablaze.

Protesters have set fire to the private residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Balkot, Bhaktapur, on Tuesday. Oli, who also leads the CPN-UML, was not reported to be at home during the incident.

 

Angry and frustrated demonstrators have been attacking the homes of political leaders, government offices, police posts, and party buildings. The UML and Nepali Congress party offices have already been vandalized. The residence of Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Communication Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung were also targeted.

 

The protests have further escalated, with the houses of former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel also set on fire by demonstrators.
