Prime Minister: No loan agreements will be signed

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that no loan agreements will be signed during his upcoming visit to China.

In a discussion with former Prime Ministers and former Foreign Ministers, Oli confirmed that there will be no loan-related agreements. Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to begin his official visit to China on December 2. During the meeting, he also stressed on the rumors about Nepal seeking to fall into a "debt trap" through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is not true.

Prime Minister Oli emphasized that Nepal has a long-standing and friendly relationship with China, and this visit aims to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries. He also mentioned that Nepal has the same friendly relations with another neighbor, India. He stressed on taking benefit from both the neighbors for Nepal's economic prosperity.
