Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli returned to Nepal on April 5 after finishing his official visit to Thailand and attending the sixth summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).

He left Bangkok at 10:15am local time. Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transport, Suriya Juangroongruangkit, saw him off at the VIP lounge of Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

Nepal's Ambassador to Thailand, Dhan Bahadur Oli, and Thai Ambassador to Nepal, Saowaphong Sirisorn, also bade farewell to the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Oli is expected to arrive in Nepal at 12:30pm.

This was the first time a Nepali Prime Minister visited Thailand in an official capacity.

The delegation accompanying the Prime Minister included First Lady Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, and Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai.
