Pressure Mounts on Nepali Congress to Quit Government

The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) is facing growing pressure to withdraw from the government, with senior leaders Shekhar Koirala, Gagan Thapa, and Bishwa Prakash Sharma saying the party’s seven-point deal with CPN-UML has lost relevance.

Agriculture Minister Ram Nath Adhikari resigned on Tuesday, emailing his resignation to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli after consultations with party leaders. His move follows the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak on Monday. Other NC ministers are also in talks about stepping down.
