Ahead of the House of Representatives elections on Falgun 21, President Ramchandra Paudel has urged Nepal’s youth to actively shape the country’s future. Speaking at a meeting at Sheetal Niwas with Prime Minister Sushila Karki, interim ministers, and representatives of the ‘Gen-Z’ movement, he described the elections as a “grand ritual” and an opportunity to fulfill the aspirations of young voters.

President Paudel emphasized electing honest and capable leaders rather than corrupt or inefficient ones, stressing that good governance and justice are key to preventing youth migration abroad. “The country must move toward transparent governance and justice, ending the circumstances that force our young to leave,” he said, according to his press advisor Kiran Pokharel.

While lacking executive power, Paudel has initiated dialogue with the government and Gen-Z representatives to promote national unity and ensure that the movement’s changes are institutionalized through elections. Gen-Z representatives assured that their movement aligns with the constitution, democracy, federalism, and inclusion, and stressed the importance of holding fair elections while fulfilling their legitimate demands.
