Nepal Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has urged party members to remain focused on completing the remaining unification work, dismissing any confusion over the list submitted to the Election Commission for party registration.

In a statement issued by his secretariat on Friday, Dahal clarified that the list submitted to the Election Commission included pre-unification standing committee members due to administrative requirements and tight deadlines. To meet the mandatory provision of including one-third women, 13 available female central members signed and were added to the list. The secretariat emphasized that this does not represent a separate party structure, and the full organizational framework will be formed according to party statutes.

Dahal reiterated that all positions and committees, except those of the coordinator and co-coordinator, will be established through mutual agreement. Preparations are ongoing to finalize the unified party’s central committee and other structures.

The secretariat also highlighted that the formation of the unified Nepal Communist Party involves over a dozen leftist groups, including the CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN (Unified Socialist). The Election Commission has set a deadline of January 30 to register the party and obtain certification ahead of the general elections scheduled for Falgun 21.
