Prachanda Urges Policy Change to Support Private Sector Growth

Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Maoist Centre, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has said that Nepal needs to change its policies and way of thinking to achieve economic growth.

Speaking at a meeting with the newly elected leaders of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) at his home in Khumaltar today, Dahal emphasized the important role of the private sector in the country’s development.

He said it’s necessary to create policies and systems that make it easier for private businesses to grow and succeed. “We cannot reach our goal of prosperity unless we make supportive policies and structures for the private sector,” he said. “The government must become more helpful and encouraging.”

During the meeting, CNI leaders also agreed that the private sector plays a key role in economic progress. They also remembered the good cooperation they had with Dahal during his time as Prime Minister.
