Nepal is facing repeated power cuts, especially in Kathmandu and nearby areas, due to technical problems in the main electricity transmission line from India. The 400 kV Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur line, which brings electricity from India, has been experiencing disruptions on the Indian side, causing frequent blackouts in Nepal.

In response to the issue, Nepal Electricity Authority's (NEA) Executive Director, Hitendra Dev Shakya, made an urgent visit to the System Operation Department at Syuchatar. He directly instructed the head of the Dhalkebar Grid Division, Vinod Lohani, to work quickly on solving the problem.

The NEA has made it clear that this is purely a technical issue and not related to load-shedding. On the same day, the power was cut off three times. The first blackout happened around 6:30 PM and lasted for about an hour. Power returned briefly around 8 pm, only to go out again after 15 minutes.

These sudden power interruptions have caused inconvenience to people across the country, affecting daily life and businesses.
