Pokhrel Calls for Active Debate on UML Statute Changes

Senior Vice-Chairman of CPN (UML), Ishwar Pokhrel, has urged party leaders to actively take part in important discussions during Friday’s Politburo meeting. The meeting is focused on reviewing proposed changes to the party’s statute.

Posting on Facebook, Pokhrel highlighted the need for open and meaningful debate on the draft amendment, which will be presented at the upcoming Statute General Convention. He mentioned that the draft had already been thoroughly discussed in the Secretariat and now needed the same attention from Politburo members.

Pokhrel said he believes all members will give useful input to improve the proposal before it goes to the Central Committee.

"The draft amendment that will be presented at the Statute General Convention has already been seriously discussed in the Secretariat. Today, Politburo members will continue the discussion. I am confident that everyone will actively take part and help make the proposal even better before it is sent to the Central Committee,” he wrote.

The Politburo meeting is scheduled for 1 PM today at the party’s headquarters in Chyasal.
