Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the opposition’s demand for Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak’s resignation is baseless and unfair. He stated that just because one employee from the Home Ministry is being questioned, it does not mean the Home Minister should resign—especially when there is no official investigation or accusation against him.

Speaking after inaugurating the “Half Marathon” event organized by Kantipur Media Group, PM Oli said the opposition should not obstruct Parliament with such impossible demands. He compared the situation to asking someone to fit a real elephant into a bag—an unrealistic request.

He also mentioned that when the resignation of a previous Home Minister was demanded, there was an official investigation going on. That is not the case now. He urged political parties to keep internal disagreements within the party and not create public disturbances.

On the topic of the national budget, PM Oli said the new budget is realistic and avoids making false promises. He explained that instead of trying to be popular, the government is focusing on real development, good governance, and social security.

PM Oli also thanked Kantipur for organizing the marathon, saying that sports bring people together and promote activeness.
