PM Karki Seeks Support from Renowned Ophthalmologist Dr. Sanduk Ruit

Prime Minister Sushila Karki met with Dr. Sanduk Ruit, the internationally acclaimed eye specialist, at the Tilganga Eye Institute on Tuesday, seeking his guidance and support for the interim government.

During the visit, PM Karki invited Dr. Ruit to join her cabinet, citing the extraordinary circumstances under which she assumed office.

Dr. Ruit, however, declined any ministerial role, while expressing his willingness to assist the government in an advisory capacity. “I will support the government, but I cannot be a part of it,” he told the Prime Minister.

He later told reporters that his commitment to the hospital and patients prevents him from taking up a government position, though he remains open to offering expertise and guidance where needed.
