A collective funeral is being held today in Kathmandu for ten individuals who lost their lives during the violent Gen-Z protests of September 8 and 9.
Of the deceased, nine had been kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj and one at Patan Hospital. The bodies were released this morning for a funeral procession, confirmed TU Teaching Hospital spokesperson Kali Prasad Rosyara.
The procession set out from the hospital premises, making a symbolic circuit of the Ring Road before moving toward the cremation site.
The ceremony follows the government’s decision on Monday to officially recognize those killed in the protests as martyrs and to honor their contribution with national recognition.
