Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are set to hold talks today (Thursday) through video conference, the Prime Minister’s Secretariat confirmed.

The meeting comes after Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava called on PM Karki at Singha Durbar earlier this week, where he reiterated India’s support for Nepal’s peace, governance, and stability, pillars he described as vital for development and reconstruction.

PM Karki expressed her readiness to engage in detailed discussions on matters of mutual concern during the upcoming dialogue.

Modi had previously congratulated Karki on her appointment, noting the significance of Nepal’s civilian government taking shape amid challenging times.

Karki assumed office as interim Prime Minister on September 12, following the resignation of UML Chair KP Sharma Oli on September 9 in the wake of the Gen-Z protests.
