Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said that Nepal’s overall peace and security situation is in a good state and continues to improve. Speaking during a meeting of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee, Minister Lekhak expressed the government’s strong commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens.

 

He emphasized that ensuring peace, reducing crime, and maintaining public order remain the top priorities of the Home Ministry. The minister explained that law enforcement agencies are continuously working to prevent crimes and take legal action against those involved in criminal activities. "If crimes do happen, proper investigations are carried out and criminals are brought to justice," he said.

 

Minister Lekhak also mentioned that many individuals involved in criminal acts and previously on the run have now been arrested, showing the effectiveness of ongoing police efforts. He said the Home Ministry is equally focused on enforcing the constitution, promoting good governance, and improving disaster response.

 

He stressed that peace and security have significantly improved compared to a year ago. In addition, he urged collective action to combat drug abuse, calling on all sectors of society to work together to reduce and prevent the misuse of drugs.
