Several committees of the Federal Parliament are holding meetings today at Singha Durbar between 11:00 am and 11:30 am to deliberate on crucial legislative and policy matters.

 

The Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee is reviewing a draft report on proposed amendments to various Nepal Acts, while the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee is gathering feedback on the agricultural policy being developed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.

 

In the social sector, the Women and Social Affairs Committee is discussing the management of social workers, and the State Administration and Good Governance Committee is set to hold talks with the Home Minister regarding the March 28 incident at Tinkune, Kathmandu.

 

Meanwhile, the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee is meeting with officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports to assess preparations for the upcoming 10th National Games. The Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee is engaging with NGOs and civil society representatives to discuss Nepal’s transition from a least developed country (LDC) to a developing country.

 

Additionally, the State Directive Principles, Policies and Responsibilities Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (Joint) is reviewing the government's annual report for the fiscal year 2022/23. The discussions will focus on key sectors such as electricity, drinking water, education, health, and infrastructure, as mandated by Article 53 of the Constitution.

 

These meetings are expected to play a crucial role in shaping policy decisions and legislative reforms.
