Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has called on citizens across the country to join a movement demanding the reinstatement of the dissolved House of Representatives.
Speaking at an interaction with intellectuals in Kathmandu on Friday, Oli argued that President Ramchandra Paudel, who he claims dissolved the House unconstitutionally, must now take responsibility to restore it.
“The one who dissolved it should be the one to reinstate it,” Oli said, adding that if the court fails to act, the President has no alternative but to do so.
He accused the current government of being unconstitutional and lacking any legal standing. Oli reaffirmed that his party’s demand for reinstatement is just and that the UML will intensify its protest until the dissolved House is restored.
