K P Sharma Oli, chairperson of CPN-UML and former prime minister, along with former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, are set to be presented in court today.
Police said the two leaders were not presented on Saturday due to a public holiday, but will be produced in court today.
They were arrested from their respective residences on Saturday. Following his arrest, Oli has been admitted to a hospital, while Lekhak is being held at No. 2 Battalion, Maharajgunj.
The arrests were made on Saturday morning in Bhaktapur while implementing the report submitted by a probe committee led by former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki, formed to investigate the incidents that occurred during the Gen Z movement on Bhadra 23 and 24.
The Karki Commission had recommended investigation and prosecution against then Prime Minister Oli, then Home Minister Lekhak, and then Inspector General of Police Chandra Kubera Khapung, holding them responsible for deaths during the movement due to negligence and carelessness.
