Nepal’s Ambassador to Israel, Dhan Prasad Pandit, has confirmed that Bipin Joshi’s name does not appear on the list of 20 hostages being released by Hamas as part of a ceasefire agreement.

Ambassador Pandit said a multinational team is searching inside a Hamas tunnel in Gaza for Bipin, but his status remains uncertain.

Bipin’s body has not been recovered, and the multinational search operation inside the tunnel continues. Israel has not provided any new updates since the call.

Bipin was taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, 2023, during an attack in the Kibbutz area that also claimed the lives of 10 Nepali students.

Speaking on the situation, Bipin’s elder brother Deepak Joshi said, “We were informed that he is not on the list of released hostages. But until all hostages are freed, we are holding on to hope that Bipin is still alive.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not issued any official statement regarding Bipin’s condition.
