Director Dipendra K Khanal’s new social film “Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar Number 2” has been released across the country starting today. The movie shows the reality of urban poverty, the struggles of tenants, the relationship between landlords and tenants, and the life stories of commoners. Written by famous writer Buddhisagar, the film has an impressive lineup of actors like Khagendra Lamichhane, Nischal Basnet, Keki Adhikari, Aryan Sigdel, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Prakash Ghimire, Srijana Napit, Sanjog Rasaili, Rubina Ghimire and Suraj Bist.
Director Khanal is known for his deep understanding of social issues in his movies. This time, he has also focused on real life in the city and brought that story to the screen.
Before the film's release, a special premiere was held on Wednesday at QFX Civil Mall in Sundhara, Kathmandu. Unlike other premieres, this event was not focused on celebrities. Instead, the producers invited more than 180 random people from markets, malls and streets to watch the film. According to director Khanal, this is the first time such an approach has been used in the Nepali film industry.
“Celebrities or friends usually give positive feedback, but we wanted to know the honest feelings of the audience. That’s why we involved commoners,” said director Khanal at the premiere. The audience who attended the premiere reportedly gave a very positive response to the film.
