Nepal Faces Qatar Tonight in Super 6 Clash, Eyes T20 World Cup Spot

Following a thrilling one-run victory over the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Nepal is now just a step closer to qualifying for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup. In that dramatic encounter, Nepal defended a 141-run target as UAE fell short at 139 for nine, losing three wickets in the final three balls while needing just three runs to win.

With two consecutive wins, Nepal sits second in the Super 6 standings with four points, trailing Oman only on net run rate. UAE is placed third with two points.

The Super 6 stage features teams from three regional groups, UAE and Qatar from Group A, Nepal and Japan from Group B, and Oman and Samoa from Group C.

Nepal’s upcoming fixtures include matches against Oman on Wednesday and Samoa on Friday. The top three teams from this stage will secure their places in the 2026 T20 World Cup, to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Nepal’s qualification hopes to remain strong as momentum continues to build.
