The Nagarik Unmukti Party has pulled its support from the government, which means Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli now has to prove he still has the support of the majority in the House of Representatives within 30 days.

The party, which has four members in parliament, sent an official letter to the Federal Parliament Secretariat to inform them of the decision. The letter was signed by the party’s parliamentary leader, Gangaram Chaudhary, and said that the party will now move to the opposition starting Sunday.

As a result of the decision, Arun Chaudhary, who is the State Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation and a member of the party, is likely to resign soon.
