The Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) has decided to exit the federal government and take a seat in the opposition. Following the party’s decision, State Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Arun Chaudhary is scheduled to submit his resignation today.
Party Chairperson Ranjita Shrestha informed that Chaudhary will meet Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at 5 PM in Baluwatar to formally hand over his resignation letter. “We have made a clear decision to leave the government and join the opposition,” she said during a press interaction.
The move comes after a parliamentary party meeting on Saturday, where the NUP unanimously agreed to step away from its role in the ruling coalition. Arun Chaudhary is currently the only federal minister representing the party in the government.
