Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the monarchy, which was removed through the people's struggle, will never return.
Speaking at the inauguration of the ninth National Convention of the National People’s Cultural Federation Nepal, PM Oli, who is also the chairperson of CPN-UML, criticized those who oppose the current system. He said some people still want to remain subjects instead of enjoying freedom under the republic, and they see negativity in everything.
He said, “Just like the jungle echoes when a few jackals howl at night, the noise made by such people means nothing. If anyone dreams of becoming a king again, it will remain just a dream. We must strongly raise our voices against such ideas.”
PM Oli also responded to those who boycott actress Suraksha Pant's films for supporting the end of monarchy. He said there is no lack of audience for good films and plays that support the country and the people.
