The CPN (Maoist Centre) has decided to dissolve its Central Committee and form a Special Convention Organizing Committee under the leadership of party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’

According to spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota, Wednesday’s Standing Committee meeting at the party’s central office in Parisdanda endorsed the move, citing the need for internal unity and restructuring. The proposal will now be tabled in the Central Committee.

The meeting also decided that Prachanda will present the party’s political document, with reports organized by province for discussion in the full committee. Additionally, the Central Committee will determine the date of the special convention.

The Maoist Centre further resolved to press the government to conduct elections on schedule and to engage with youth movements like Gen-Z, as well as other progressive forces, in pursuit of broader political cooperation.
