After months of discussions, the CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN (Unified Socialist) are finally preparing to declare their party unification on November 6.

The decision was made during the Maoist Centre’s Secretariat meeting held at Parisdanda on Sunday. Party spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota said a central committee meeting on November 4 will finalize policy and organizational matters, followed by a joint meeting with the Unified Socialist and other allied forces to make the formal announcement.

He added that the parties are also preparing to register the unified organization with the Election Commission once the merger is completed.

Meanwhile, Secretariat member Janardan Sharma skipped Sunday’s meeting, expressing dissatisfaction with the unification process led by Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda. Spokesperson Sapkota criticized Sharma’s move, calling it against party discipline.

According to the Maoist Centre, the upcoming merger aims to build a new political force through shared ideology, policy, and organization.
