Major Currencies Dip as Australian Dollar Gains Slightly: NRB Update

Nepal Rastra Bank has released the new foreign exchange rates for today (Wednesday), showing a slight drop in the value of several major currencies. The US dollar, euro, British pound, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar have all decreased in value compared to yesterday. On the other hand, the Australian dollar has gone up a little.

Today, the buying rate for 1 US dollar is NPR 136.82, and the selling rate is NPR 137.42. This is lower than yesterday's rates, which were NPR 137.07 for buying and NPR 137.67 for selling. The euro is now being bought at NPR 160.54 and sold at NPR 161.24, slightly down from yesterday’s NPR 160.73 and NPR 161.43. The British pound has also dropped, with today’s buying rate at NPR 185.79 and selling rate at NPR 186.61, compared to yesterday’s NPR 186.58 and NPR 187.40.

In contrast, the Australian dollar has increased in value. It is being bought at NPR 89.54 and sold at NPR 89.93 today, up from yesterday’s NPR 89.10 and NPR 89.49. The Kuwaiti dinar is now at NPR 447.87 for buying and NPR 449.83 for selling, down from yesterday’s NPR 448.88 and NPR 450.84. Similarly, the Bahraini dinar has also seen a small drop, with a buying rate of NPR 362.95 and a selling rate of NPR 364.54, slightly lower than yesterday’s NPR 363.61 and NPR 365.20.
