A new Nepali movie 'Mahabhoj' based on the pain and challenges caused by cooperative fraud, has been released in cinemas from Friday. A special screening of the movie was held in Kathmandu on Monday, where it received positive responses from both audiences and critics.
The movie highlights corruption and fraud happening in cooperative organizations and tries to show the economic and social situation of Nepal. Viewers said that the film is not only entertaining but also educational. One viewer shared, “The movie showed the injustice in our society so closely that I became emotional.”
Writer Amar Neupane, who attended the special show, said that the film raises questions about the weaknesses in Nepal’s legal system. He said, “We live in a democratic republic because of the constitution and laws, but this film shows how cooperative victims are still not getting justice. This truth forces us to think.”
Actor Haribansha Acharya said, “The movie clearly shows how people’s money is misused. It brings the leaders’ corruption to the screen.”
