CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal has called for unity among communist groups in Nepal to build a fair society where everyone’s rights are protected.
At the party’s student wing meeting in Kathmandu on Friday, the former Prime Minister said that internal conflicts must stop to make leftist politics stronger.
He said even though communism is fading worldwide, people in Nepal support the communist party for its role in social change and justice. “The communist movement in Nepal started to bring equality, economic growth, and end discrimination,” he explained.
Nepal said they are working to bring leftist groups together to form a stronger team for social justice, good governance, and development for all.
He stressed that his party wants a working democracy, a society with many voices, and equal chances for everyone.
Nepal also worried about rising corruption, saying it blocks good governance and social progress. He defended himself against a legal case he called political, saying he trusts the court.
“We fought for this constitution and press freedom. I believe the court will clear me,” he said.
