Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has accused Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of using corruption charges against him for political revenge.
Speaking at the opening event of his party’s Madhesh Province Contact Committee in Kathmandu on Saturday, Nepal said that PM Oli brought up the Patanjali land case to attack him out of personal hatred and political rivalry.
“Our party is growing stronger, and some people feel threatened by that. They are acting out of fear and bias,” Nepal said. “The recent attempt to accuse me of corruption is just a move for revenge.”
He said legal action should be based on facts, not personal grudges. He also insisted that he never abused power or acted against the country’s interests.
“If I ever took a single paisa as a bribe, got land illegally, or did anything to harm the country or its people, I am ready to take full responsibility,” he said.
Nepal emphasized that he has always worked for the good of the nation and never for personal gain. He said he has nothing to fear and trusts the legal system.
“If my actions were never for personal benefit, there is no reason to be afraid,” he added. “I will strongly fight against any false accusations. I believe the courts will deliver justice, and truth will win.”
