The top leaders of Nepal’s major political parties have come together to move the country’s long-stalled peace process forward and take it to a logical conclusion, if a recent remark from CPN (Maoist Center) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' is anything to go by.
Speaking at Biratnagar Airport, Maoist Chair ‘Prachanda’ said a recent meeting between him, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba focused on completing the remaining tasks of the peace process.
During his interaction with the media, Prachanda clarified that there is no legal or constitutional rule preventing former presidents or vice-presidents from returning to active politics. He said international norms also support this practice.
He emphasized that all three parties are on the same page when it comes to strengthening Nepal’s federal democratic republic and that there is no major disagreement among them.
