Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC said that a powerful committee should be formed under the leadership of a former Chief Justice to investigate corruption cases.
He said that the investigation should not be led by individuals who are near party leaders but by a former Chief Justice. According to KC only such a neutral person can deliver justice impartially.
Speaking at an event in Kathmandu today, KC said, "To investigate the prominent corruption cases raised in Parliament by the ruling, opposition, and other parties, let's agree to form a powerful committee of three to five members under the leadership of a former Chief Justice, someone who is recognized by the people and capable of delivering impartial justice, not someone known by Prachanda, Sher Bahadur, or Oli."
He also suggested that banning the 500 and 1000 rupee notes could help control corruption.
