Kaligandaki Corridor Still Blocked by Landslide

The Kaligandaki Corridor remains blocked following a landslide that occurred yesterday at Baralaba, located in ward no. 6 of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, under the Gulmi section of the road. The landslide brought down large rocks along with rocks, completely obstructing the roadway.

Efforts are being made to clear the road, but continuous landslides from above are creating significant challenges, according to Bed Bahadur Thapa, Chairperson of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality.

Following the obstruction, a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Dev Bahadur Bhujel from the Bhurtung Police Post has been deployed to the affected area, informed District Police Chief, Superintendent of Police Narayan Prasad Adhikari.

However, officials have indicated that the chances of reopening the road today remain less. With the road blocked for an extended period, passengers are facing considerable difficulties.
