June 18: US Dollar and Major Currencies Rise, Euro Dips Slightly

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released the official foreign exchange rates for today (Wednesday). According to the central bank, the value of several major foreign currencies has gone up, including the US dollar, Australian dollar, Kuwaiti dinar, Bahraini dinar, and British pound. However, the euro has seen a slight drop in value.

Today, one US dollar is being bought at NPR 137.69 and sold at NPR 138.29. This is a small increase from yesterday, when the rates were NPR 137.41 for buying and NPR 138.01 for selling. The highest exchange rate for the US dollar in Nepal so far was on Magh 25, when the buying rate reached NPR 139.83 and the selling rate hit NPR 140.43.

Meanwhile, the euro has slightly weakened. Its buying rate today is NPR 159.29 and the selling rate is NPR 159.99, compared to yesterday’s NPR 159.09 (buying) and NPR 159.79 (selling).

On the other hand, the British pound has gained some value. It is being bought today at NPR 186.57 and sold at NPR 187.56, slightly higher than yesterday’s rates of NPR 186.66 and NPR 187.48.

The Australian dollar has also strengthened. Today’s buying rate is NPR 90.02 and the selling rate is NPR 90.41, up from yesterday’s NPR 89.58 and NPR 89.98.

Similarly, the Kuwaiti dinar has slightly increased in value, with a buying rate of NPR 449.82 and a selling rate of NPR 451.78 today. These rates were NPR 449.27 and NPR 451.23 yesterday.

The Bahraini dinar has also gone up a little, with today’s buying rate at NPR 365.18 and the selling rate at NPR 366.77, compared to NPR 364.35 and NPR 365.94 yesterday.
