Janamat, Nagarik Unmukti Discuss Merger, Power Structure

The CK Raut-led Janamat Party and Resham Lal Chaudhary-led Nagarik Unmukti Party have agreed to name the new outfit to be born after their unification as the Nagarik Janamat Party. 
A meeting of the unity task force of the two parties held in Amarpur of Bardiya district made a decision to this effect, on Sunday. 
The meeting decided that Dhakiya (in the middle of a rectangular flag) will be the election symbol of the new party. It may be noted that Dhakiya is the election symbol of NUP. 
The new outfit will have Resham Lal Chaudhary as its patron and CK Raut as the executive president. A tentative understanding has been reached to have Ranjita Shrestha as the third seniormost leader of the new party. The plan is to finalize the merger within a few days by holding a meeting of the working committee.
