The Nepali film Hrasva Deergha, starring Neeta Dhungana and Harihar Adhikari, has completed two weeks in theaters. The film made a strong start, earning 5.54 crore in its first week. In its second week, the film earned nearly 3 crores, bringing its total to 8.52 crore after 14 days, according to a report shared by producer Neeta Dhungana on Facebook.
While these earnings are gross amounts, after deducting the theater's share and distributor commissions, the producers expect to net around 4.5 crore. Despite some decline in theater occupancy as it enters its third week, Hrasva Deergha continues to perform well in specific regions, especially Nepalgunj and Dang.
With a production budget of 6 crore, the film needs at least 12 crores in gross earnings in Nepal to be classified as a hit. However, Dhungana is confident about the film's financial success, claiming that her investment was secured within the first week. Additionally, the film has been sold to an OTT platform in India, and with projected earnings from various rights, Dhungana estimates a total gross of 21 crore.
Plans are also underway to release the film in Telugu in India in 2025, with the team optimistic about its potential for strong box office performance. Directed by Chandra Pant, the film features a diverse cast of Nepali and South Indian actors, including Pradeep Rawat, Brahmanandam, Sunil Varma, Ali, Kabir Duhan Singh, along with Nepali stars Neeta Dhungana, Harihar Adhikari, Bipana Thapa, Rekha Thapa, Sanchita Luitel, and Adarsh Mishra. The film was shot by renowned Bollywood cinematographer Kavir Lal.
