Heavy rainfall has caused devastating floods in Nigeria, leading to the deaths of at least 115 people. The disaster has also destroyed more than 50 homes, leaving many families without shelter. The most affected areas are the Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa districts in Mokwa city, as reported by the BBC.

Local authorities are currently engaged in rescue operations and providing emergency support to the victims. Abdullahi Baba-Ara, head of the National Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), confirmed that efforts are underway to help those impacted by the flooding.

This is not the first time Nigeria has suffered such devastation. In 2022, severe floods affected millions, displacing around 1.3 million people and resulting in the deaths of over 600 individuals.
