The recently registered Gen Z Party is set to be absorbed into a new political party that Kulman Ghising is preparing to launch today. Ghising, who currently leads three major development-related ministries, is expected to formally announce the party soon, marking his official entry into national politics.
Sources said the new group will bring together several independent and reform-minded figures, including Tara Prasad Joshi, Sumana Shrestha, and Sagar Dhakal. Representatives of Sudan Gurung, one of the prominent faces of the Gen Z movement, are also expected to join the initiative.
According to those close to Ghising, the new party may either be registered as a completely new organization or emerge by renaming the already registered ‘Ujyaalo Nepal Party.’ However, discussions now lean toward creating a separate entity, possibly called the ‘Janasewa Party.’
If the Election Commission (EC) grants approval, the team plans to hold an announcement gathering in Kathmandu. The proposed election symbol for the party is a ‘burning bulb,’ reflecting Ghising’s identity as a reformist figure in the energy sector.
With the EC’s deadline to register new parties set for November 16, Ghising’s camp has accelerated preparations to finalize the party’s structure and leadership
