Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that it's important to seriously review how federalism is being implemented in Nepal.
Speaking at an event organized by the Nepal Democratic Federation of Indigenous Nationalities in Sanepa, Lalitpur on Friday, Thapa said there should be a detailed assessment of both the successes and the problems seen so far in enforcing federalism.
He also highlighted the need to make both federal and provincial parliaments more inclusive and suggested changes in the electoral system. Thapa added that indigenous communities are among the most affected by climate change, so this issue should be a key priority for them.
Meanwhile, NC Joint General Secretary Bhishmaraj Aangdembe urged indigenous nationalities to stay united in their fight for rights.
